About the restaurant
The Abbey is a historic sandstone building in Warwick, Queensland, originally constructed in 1891 as a convent and boarding school by the Sisters of Mercy. Designed by Brisbane architects Simkin and Ibler, it features Victorian eclectic architecture with fine detailing, including stained glass panels from the Royal Bavarian Art Institute of Stained Glass in Munich. After serving as a convent for 93 years, it was repurposed into a boutique hotel and wedding venue, offering a unique blend of heritage charm and modern amenities. The Abbey is open for accommodation, weddings, and events, providing a picturesque setting for various occasions.
