ARC OF IRIS
Margaret River and South West, Western Australia

Top10 Image
Arc of Iris isn't your typical Margaret River restaurant – it's vibrant, funky and a little bit quirky and a bit of an icon in Margaret River. The iris coloured restaurant serves modern Australian cuisine with standout dishes including the venison rib rack with red currant jelly and sour cream and the seafood platter for two.

We had the most flavoursome meal at Arc of Iris after reading about it in a ten year old lonely planet. Even the kids fish and chips, which we finished, was the most tastiest freshes fish I had had in a long time. The only disappointing thing was we didn't have dessert - we had been to the chocolate factory and ice cream factory earlier and had told the children there would be no pudding later, that was probably a mistake! I would definitely eat there again and recommend it to my friends.

We stumbled on this "Hole in the Wall" last night without any idea or pre recommendations. It looked funky from outside and as we entered and shown to our table I was taken in by the atmosphere and the decor. It looked like a place I had been to on the South of France. The clientele looked as though they were well at home and come often. We being tourists, first time in Margaret River were made very welcome by the staff and the service was faultless and very professional. Something you don't experience very often. The food was sublime. We started with 1/2 doz each of oysters. Kilpatrick and au natural. Don't usually like my oysters messed with but these were superb! I asked the waitress where the oysters were from and right away she answered, "South Australia". The staff knew the menu. Next came the fish of the day: Groper for me and Swordfish for my partner. So fresh and beautifully presented. We finished off we a share in the Hazelnut cake with I've creme and berries. As we stumbled out we made reservations for the next night, our last in Margaret River.
