About the restaurant
The people behind Umberto Espresso Bar have created a place for their Northside paesani to go for drinks. Joanie’s Baretto (“little bar”) in Thornbury is modelled on those backstreet Italian bars only locals know about. The bar specialises in wines and beers from all over Italy, plus there's Campari, Aperol and Negronis. Nibble on bar snacks, or come on a Sunday, when local nonnas roast pork over open coals.
