HUTONG PEKING DUCK AND DUMPLING
Melbourne, Victoria

Top10 Image
HuTong Dumpling Bar is the Prahran restaurant destination of choice for anybody struck with the desire for top-notch dumplings, some perfectly-cooked Peking duck or an authentic clay pot meal. A younger sister to the CBD stalwart, the modern fit out here is bound to impress your dinner guests well before the designer cocktails and made-to-order dumplings hit the table.

Beautiful decor and polite, efficient service. Ordered Lamb with Leeks, and Crispy Fragrant Duck. Lamb was in a delicious sauce, but came with onions rather than leeks, and surrounded by a mound of barely blanched tasteless broccoli. Crispy duck was very lean ( a plus) but overcooked and totally without flavour (or fragrance). The Hoi Sin sauce made it barely edible. Other diners seemed to be enjoying their dumplings but our meal was quite poor. Disappointing.
