Esca Grill in Moonee Ponds is a polished Italian steak, seafood and oyster bar that knows how to do a proper occasion. The room feels elegant and energetic, while the menu runs from shucked-to-order oysters and chilled seafood platters to wagyu, rib-eye, lobster and pasta done with a luxe, old-school touch. It’s the kind of place where service is sharp, the wine list is generous and dinner feels just a little bit grand. The dining room houses intimate booths on the mezzanine level, an oyster bar overlooking the busy open kitchen and a large open dining room below, along with a private function room at the rear.
