Carlton, home to Al Dente is also known as "Little Italy" is around 10 minutes form Melbourne's CBD.

Al Dente was opened in 2020 just pre pandemic by Andrea Vignali and housemate Davide Bonadiman, both Florentino chefs.  Al Dente is a sleek restaurant and wine bar with authentic home made pastas, meats and the finest Italian cuisine. Although the menu changes regularly, the spanner crab ravioli is a mainstay on the menu while meats and fish make regular appearances.  The wine list is predominantly Italian and Australian and you can bring a special bottle of wine with corkage $20 per bottle.  Next door is Al Dente's retail outlet, Sapori, selling home made pastas and flavour packed sauces.
