About the restaurant

The Source Restaurant sits atop the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) in Berriedale, a suburb in the north of Hobart. Helmed by Mona’s executive chef, Vince Trim, it's a temple to seasonal Tasmanian dining, championing local produce and innovative cooking. The restaurant takes its name from the John Olsen painting that adorns the ceiling—still on display as you enter—emphasising The Source's  ongoing dialogue between art and food. Guests can choose from à la carte, chef’s menu or tasting menu options, all available Thursday to Monday from 12–4pm, and wines from an award-winning list that includes bottles from Domaine A and Moorilla Estate, the on-site vineyard that pre-dates the museum.
