STAR OF GREECE
McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia

Top10 Image
Charming 1950's kiosk perched on a cliff with magnificent views of the sea and the coastline of Port Willunga, all within a ten minute drive from the McLaren Vale wineries. Great food with emphasis on seafood and this is where you will probably get the best calamari ever, caught by the local fisherman on the beach below.

The restaurant sits on top of the cliffs, stunning views over S.A's most picturesque beach. Order anything seafood – oysters, squid, King George Whiting.

Very expensive meal for very ordinary food. My snapper was well cooked, but the cellery and caviar gravy was extremely bland and very unapitising. My partner had 2 pieces of duck (5cmx4cm) and both were raw. Our waitress was apologetic and helpful, but at that stage we just wanted to leave. $116 later, and both of us were still hungry!

Service quite good. Food quality ordinary. Brussel Sprouts with fish means literally 2 leaves taken off 1 sprout. Radish was marginally larger than a pin head (no I'm not joking!). Nearly $20 for an entree that had enough food on a large plate that would almost fill an eggcup. Facility is run down with a rattling air conditioner. Wouldn't ever go back again.
