PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS

With a kitchen helmed by the talented Peter Stubbs (who has spent 15 years abroad being chef to the stars -think David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Mexican president Vincente Fox), the intimate, European-style bistro has been attracting plenty of positive attention since opening in 2004.

Look beyond the standard bistro format of the menu (six choices for each course from a soup of the day entree to fish of the day main) and you'll find modern Australian dishes that shine with the sort of inventiveness and flair that few other suburban restaurants come close to. Stubbs has a special love for desserts, so save room for the sweet stuff if you can. The pear confit with raisins, creme fraiche ice-cream and warm pear broth and the tapioca pandanus brulee with pandanus ice-cream roulade are both simply stunning.

Beautiful, elegant and inspired food and service that is second to none. I love Cinco's attention to detail. The piccolo pizzas are always tasty and not too overfilled with topping. Yum yum ... would recommend both piccolo pizza or Cinco to friends.

Derk, our waiter was sensational!! We rated our food 7/10. The most disappointing and dishonest part of our experience at Cinco was when we got the bill it was plus GST!! This is not a cheap restaurant and for them to hit you with GST on prices that are already high - $38 for rack of lamb + $8.50 for a side dish of beans and then GST = $51.15 the adding of GST has left a bad taste in our mouths and we think it to be dishonest.
