Casurina's top meeting, eating and drinking spot, the Cas has just about everything a punter needs, be it a relaxed Sunday lunch with the family or a tipple or three after dark. The big screen sports play continuously and the gaming lounge is always busy. On an average night you can also tick off raffle prizes, tipping comps, beer-of-the-month specials and surprisingly decent music. A big thumbs up to the good-natured bar staff too.
There's a large bistro area away from the pokies so the kids are most welcome. All the requisite pub grub is here: monster Cas burgers, hefty, cooked-to-order NT steaks and chicken parma schnitzels. If seafood's more your style, there are fresh oyster platters, garlic prawns and wild-caught grilled barramundi. For some variety, tuck into the roast of the day or the chef's hot pot. While beer is the beverage of choice here, the bar offers a very reasonable wine selection if you're after a chilled white to go with the prawn Caesar, or something spicy to accompany the grilled Cajun chicken fillet. It might not have the modern styling of its city brethren, but it's a friendly, well-equipped local hangout that sticks to what works.
