About the restaurant
It's perfect for
rustic Italian done properly with zero pretension.
You need to try
the cacio e pepe, creamy, peppery and dangerously moreish.
Look out for
the handwritten menu that changes with the mood and the market.
Chef/owner, Marcello Fariolis has all the right credentials having worked at well known Italian institutions such as Otto, Pendolino, Fratelli Paradise and 10 William Street. Expect a selection of classic Italian recipes using sustainable local produce and using modern cooking techniques. I Maccheroni is an intimate space with a long communal table . Choose from the specials from the blackboard menu which may include tortelli spinach and reggiano, with burnt butter and sage or cannelloni, jap pumpkin, pecorino romano and speck.
