THE CHURCH BAR
Sydney, New South Wales

Top10 Image
Diners fond of the idea of a bar and restaurant with a few quirks should head to The Church Bar. It's housed in an original Church, which was built in 1869. The cafe menu offers old mod-Oz favourites like pizza, steaks, fish and salads. Beers are on tap, wine is available by the glass and the weekends bring live entertainment.

Very disappointing. Ate there over a year ago and the food was very nice. Tonight the chicken was so dry and stringy I couldn't chew it, the salad was dry and wilted and the service was very average. The noise from one group of people was enough to upset the Whole room. Sorry, Would not recommend this place anymore.

My friends and I go here often and love the food and atmosphere. Portion sizes are very generous for what you pay for and we always enjoy our meals. They have live music sometimes which is great. It can get a bit too noisy inside when it is busy because of the echo but all in all a great place for Friday drinks or Sunday sessions.

Ordered the Fishermans Basket & Veal Schnitzel. The F/B was created from a frozen packet, including the chips - nothing fresh at all. The Veal dish was a good portion, unfortunately it had very little flavor and wasn't helped by the cheese and tomato topping. Very rubbery texture. We ordered a bottle of Sav Blanc. It was a Dan Murphy clean skin. Oh, well done Church Bar!!!
