Cipri Italian
Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales
About
The Cipri brothers are well-known among Sydney foodies and their latest restaurant, Cipri Italian, is another great eatery to add to their repertoire. Combing the extravagance of Milan and the taste of Tuscany, Cipri brings together the very best of Italian style, along with an atmosphere that welcomes fashionistas, families and everyone in between. The restaurant is available for functions for up to 85 guests seated and there is street-side parking, which is a bonus for this area.

Saturday nights are always a good test of a restaurant to fire under pressure. Cipri did itself proud. It was busy - but everything just worked so well. This is an elegant and pleasant dining room - it looks cool and and somewhat sophisticated. The parking underneath is a real big bonus. The welcome is friendly and warm and the tables intimate. Lighting is good and the noise level allows for audible conversation. Waiters are knowledgeable and friendly and helpful - and not at all pushy. The menu is not your traditional menu - with many dishes described in an original way. The sesame and black pepper tuna "carpaccio" was delicious - a slight tangy dressing - it was light and flavoursome and complimented the crunchy and delicious arrancini. The whole baby barramundi was simply baked and served with plenty of squeezing lemon - simple and delicious (but oh so many bones). I tried the pappardelle with with duck ragout - and whilst it looked s a little stodgy - tasted ok. The tiramisu and pannacotta were shared - and we left just a little (never a good sign for great desserts). An enjoyable night spent with good friends, good wine in a good restaurant.
