Award Wining Vietnamese Restaurant:

“Tran's, more so than most neighbourly kitchens, has its unashamed fans, from the celebrities to the locals practically queuing up at the door on any given weeknight. So booking is strongly recommended for this charming lantern-filled room overlooking traffic and historic Boronia House.
Lanna Tran has played with the flavours of her mother country with joyous results for a decade. Chargrilled pork belly strips atop bed of soft rice noodles epitomises her style, the dish buoyant with Vietnamese and perilla mint, sorrel, lemongrass, chilli, pickling onions, roast eschalots and peanuts, all at once light , nutty, smoky and delicious. Then there's beaut duck, roasted, de-boned, crisp-skinned and served with pan-fried gai choy and ginger and plum dipping sauce for a dash of French colonial flavour. Regardless of the odd Chinese spice, this is the contemporary cuisine of South Vietnam. Makes you want to travel, if not to Saigon then (sigh) Spit Junction will do just fine.” The SMH Good Food Guide

Nestled within the Mosman restaurant scene and welcoming the adoring masses with an unwavering, warm 1920s-style setting, over its 15-year history Tran's Restaurant has established itself as a Mosman favourite. Boasting delicious Vietnamese cuisine that uses only the finest quality Australian produce (and has earned no less than 12 awards) Tran's is the place to indulge your senses and truly experience the taste sensations of Vietnam.

The cuisine is original and generously sized. Signature entrees – crisp rice pancakes and Vietnamese ravioli – exude an abundance of flavour through a brilliant blend of prawns, pork and coconut milk. Also popular is the succulent lemongrass and chilli beef which is marinated overnight and exceptionally tender, and the best-selling crispy boneless duck. Coconut prawns set in a rich, tangy sauce and served in a fresh coconut complete the experience. Vegetarian options are also worth a try – especially the Asian vegetables with shiitake mushrooms or the vegetable curry cooked in a clay pot. Service is very attentive, prompt and pleasant and Tri Tran is a very personable Maitre' D. Do as the locals do – bring a bottle of wine and kick back, relax and absorb the flavours, sensations and service of a truly authentic Vietnamese eatery with lashings of local and international appeal.

Being a frequent diner at Tran's our family very much enjoyed the hospitality received upon arrival. The food are delicious and it's difficult to decide. My personal favourite is the Crsipy rice pancake/crepe, duck and beef salad just to name a few and the dessert is a must.

We've discovered Tran's a few years back, and have been back ever since. My favourite is the Hanoi's Cha Ca (grill fish) with fragrant fresh herbs, reminds me of mum's. The black sticky rice is another of my favourite, I'll not leave before it's consumption. Besides the delicious menu, the girls are always gracious, and the host gregarious. With B.Y.O, I get to enjoy my favourite wines, a rare thing in most Vietnamese eateries. After a few hours inside this warm and elegant environment, I'm always relaxed and recharged for society! Cheers!
