PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS
Fancy a nice, cold schooner? Although The Brewery no longer brews its own beer, it still has a ready supply of more than 30 local and international brews to satisfy that craving. Occupying a large portion of the downstairs area of the Novotel Hotel and splashing out onto the pavement of Sydney Olympic Park, this bistro is a relaxed way to pass the afternoon, early evening or night. Most popular before concerts or gigs at one of the Park's arenas or venues, The Brewery also draws in hotel guests and passers-by with live entertainment every Friday. On these days most of its tables – the breezy alfresco variety and the casual indoor variety – fill up faster than you can say "two schooners of your finest, please", so get in quick!
However it is not only the music and the promise of cold beer that attracts the crowds, The Brewery also has a concise, but delicious, menu of restaurant-quality dishes. You can start your night with a tasty leek and potato soup served with warm crusty garlic bread or nibble on salt and pepper squid. For mains, favourites like the chicken parmigiana (topped with napolitana sauce, mozzarella and served with chips) sit alongside a selection of steaks, fish and vegetarian delights like chilli bean nachos (served with jalapeno relish and guacamole), promising to provide lively company to your beverage of choice – whether this be a frothy glass of molten yeast and hops or a glass of wine. And what better note to end on than a warm apple pie served with ice-cream or a baked New York cheesecake served with double cream and mixed berries?
