There's no question of the pedigree of the chefs in the kitchen. Dinner on a Saturday night ensured a very satisfied and happy table. Only a few minor details took the edge off an otherwise great dining experience.
- Sorry but it IS weird fine dining on a cafe bus stop. Even at night.
- The tables located at the rear of the restaurant, ie on the 'pass' are sweltering due to the heat lamps for the food coming out of the kitchen.
- Service was friendly but very erratic - our (delightful) amuse bouche plates, empty champagne glasses and beer bottles remained on the table until the mains appeared, despite entree plates being cleared.
- It took several requests for water to arrive.
Judging by the number of locals chowing down at any time of day or night, these views are in the minority. But when the bill nudges $600, attention to detail is everything.
