A light, bright room beckons hungry and thirsty patrons into Excelsior Jones. The cafe squats on a corner in a residential part of Ashfield, an unexpected gem that serves a compact but tasty breakfast and lunch menu, not to mention 5 Senses house blend coffee. Old school milk bar favourites, like cheeseburgers and malted milkshakes collide with modern classics like house-made crunchy granola and bacon and egg sandwiches with capsicum relish. The Chefs, Anthony Svilicich and James Naylor are ex Le Monde, so expect great things.
