LEURA GARAGE
Blue Mountains, New South Wales

Leura Garage has a distinctly Italian take and with its environmentally aware approach of using renewable energy supplies, the rather laid back atmosphere belies the freshly cooked food which blends the best of city and country life. A former mechanic's workshop it has retained elements of its heritage with a vintage car-hoist used as a wine rack and plant pots made from stacked tyres.

I visited the Garage in LEURA over the Christmas break, the food was beautiful absolutely beautiful, the only problem was the very very small amount that you got of each dish. They were only serving Banquet menus at $35 $55 or $75 per head. As we were on a break we went with the $75 per head. With drinks for the four of us that were dining the bill came to about $430. I thought this to be very excessive especially as we were struggling to share the servings between the four of us, the one steak that was served between us was very well cooked but the one bite each was a little bit hard to take being a big meat eater. Overall the food like I already said was delicious but the portion size and cost was pathetic. The service was pretty good but the manager or the owner I noticed was very aggressive to some of the other customer, he was pretty rude and had that little man attitude which always puts me off. I think his name was George. It's a pity to say this because the food was so good, but the prices and the small portions and the little fellas bad attitude put me off, I definately will not go back.
