Frank Shek was born in Dundee, Scotland to parents originating from Hong Kong. His family’s heritage stems from a small fishing island off the Kowloon Peninsula of Hong Kong. His passion for cooking was heavily influenced by his family and their desire to maintain true to their Chinese heritage in the midst of Scottish culture. This lead to a progressive path into the world of Asian cooking and allowed Frank to return to Hong Kong to further develop is culinary skills. He arrived in Australia at the age of 24 to pursue a career in fine food and has been the head chef at China Doll restaurant since 2005.

Max capacity: 60 pax
- Functions - Groups 10+ Group bookings in the main dining room of 10 or more guests are required to go onto a banquet. All dietary requirements can be accommodated for with advance notice and a 10% service charge applies.China Doll does not offer BYO or beverage packages.
- Private Dining China Doll offers two large private dining spaces. The Vase Room on the ground floor and The Mezzanine. Both spaces seat up to 40 guests and 50 guests standing for a cocktail style function.
- The Mezzanine offers L shaped seating. Exclusive Hire Exclusive hire Capacity: 180 Seated, 220 Standing China Doll restaurant is available for complete exclusive hire. A minimum spend is calculated on the day, time and month of your function. Semi exclusive Capacity: 100 Seated, 140 Standing
- The terrace area can be used for pre dinner drinks and canapés if preferred. A minimum spend applies and is calculated based on the day, time and month of your function. This amount will vary pending on the particular month and a 10% service charge applies. Menu options:
