Late night dining at Arisun
The best late night dining experience to go for would definitely be Arisun in the CBD. This place is a chefs haven after hours, with sticky Korean chilli fried chicken, pickles and beer...definitely a go to spot in the CBD! A must have dish though, other than the fried chicken, are the pigs trotters. Be prepared!
Special occasion at Vue de Monde
You cannot fault or even go past Shannon Bennets, Vue De Monde in Melbourne CBD. This place has recently blown me away with the entire dining experience. From the second you walk in the building to when you get the lift down five hours later. Mind Blowing!
Best cafe at Cornersmith
I feel the best place for breakfast right now is Cornersmith in Marickville. The food they use is all-local. The pickles, chutneys and preserves are all made in house or by local producers. Plus they only source the best ingredients to use that day!
Best winery at Thousand Candles
At the moment I'm very much into the Orange wines. So without a doubt I must put Patrick Sullivan, Yarra Valley, out there. His wines have become a massive hit, and once you drink the first sip you're hooked on it! The experience of drinking a bottle of Britania Creek is something you remember! Breakfast Wine, Another massive hit that is very rare now to find! And Haggis, which I first experienced down in Melbourne, but then once I got back to Sydney I instantly purchased half a case to be delivered! Patrick Sullivan is an assistant winemaker at Thousand Candles vineyard but acquires his fruit from various places in and around the Yarra.
Best kept secret at Moon Park
Moon Park, Redfern. Since this venue opened it has grown from strength to strength. Their take on modern Korean food is amazing! Matched too with some quality wines. The staff are amazingly helpful, descriptive, knowledgeable, but are down to earth as well. This new gem in Redfern is going places.
