Restaurants:
Best winery at The Lane Vineyard
I love going to The Lane winery. Located just half an hour out of Adelaide I am able to visit the vineyard regularly. The staff are great, the wine is beautiful and if you are staying for lunch or dinner it will be perfectly matched with the food.
Best kept secret at The Sardine Room
The Sardine Room, is a family run restaurant in Potts Point. The menu is full of fresh seafood and Mediterranean inspired dishes. Positioned next to the hugely popular Fei Jai and opposite the Fratelli Paradiso institution, this hole-in-the-wall often gets overshadowed. Try the baked white fish moussaka, you won’t be disappointed!
Whilst a great place for a cup of seriously good coffee is Lotus Story in Broadway, if I’m going to enjoy a long leisurely breakfast it will be at Grandma’s Little Bakery in Rosebury. Their Wood Fired Eggplant Shakshuka with fresh thick Labane cheese and freshly made bread is a great treat.
Late night dining at Ying Chow
There isn’t much of a late night dining culture in Sydney. However, when I’m in Adelaide I will always stop past Ying Chow with my staff after a long night at Zucca. It’s B.Y.O. and their shallot pancakes and sizzling venison could rival some of the best.
Special occasion at Sails on Lavender Bay
Sails on Lavender bay is an all-around great experience, showcasing Sydney’s iconic views and serving fresh modern, contemporary Australian dishes. I think it’s a great novelty to indulge in their seafood-centric menu whilst looking over the harbour views, which is why I would want to share it with any overseas visitor.
