Love-Food - 3/10/2012
This venue is a welcome change to the drudgery of the chains and family restaurants. Daytime menu seems to cover all bases with breakfast specials such as the Spanish Eggs and Corn fritters and bacon with creme fraich and relish mmm. Cakes, housemade muffins, banana bread smoothies, its a real Leederville style affair.
Really good coffee apparently shipped over every fortnight from Richmond, Melbourne (Gravity Espresso) 6 degrees darker. They also use Bannister Downs milk. A welcome change from the mass produced milks most place use to cut the cost.
The place seems to have an air of cool about it, I think mostly due to the tunes on the stereo, good efficient staff in casual dress with just enough attention to detail (although i think they can do better during the day on some occasions) and the old building brought back to life with a Melbourne style fit out (if there is such a thing).
Night time was a surprise! linnen on the tables even more chilled music and a simple but inspired menu for a dual purpose venu. Upon meeting the owners Terry and Andrea Strudwick, it was apparent that when they were in the place the whole experience came together. Real pro operators with an attention to the room you only get by having worked at a world class level. It turns out that they both have worked at some top Melbourne venues and were the co owners of the infamous Lawson Grove Shop in South Yarra.
I feel that this venue is needed in Mandurah and with a little more polish will be the stand out venu for the foodie types. Thanks for bringing this to Mandurah and giving myself and my friends a place to hang on those sunny weekends.

This venue is a breath of fresh air in Mandurah, the Melbourne vibe right on our doorstep. The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing, well done guys you got it spot on. Would recommend Taste & Graze for any get together you are planning.
