The Georges building once housed a fantastic boutique department store. Downstairs, where the menswear section was, there have been many changes. The latest transformation resulted in The Long Room, which is actually a series of designer rooms, many of which are ideal for functions. The intricate layout offers a main central bar couched between various lounges and eating areas that are opulently dressed. The décor baosts warm chocolate hues, leather lounges, lacquered screens, wooden tables and bentwood chairs. A moody lighting scheme creates a suave atmosphere, whilst plush seating and dramatic ironwork fixtures add finesse. A large moose head above the entrance oversees couches and armchairs in a number of stylishly designed lounge areas, and seats at the various bars.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Longroom offers an extensive tapas menu accented with Asian influences as well as offering well worn Mediterranean favourites, which all work well as tipple accompaniments. If dining with a group, platters are a popular choice. The Longroom beverage list boasts an impressive selection of wines, beers, spirits and the chatty cocktail menu is a particular highlight.
