PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS
Bimbo Deluxe opened in 2001 with the concept of offering cheap pizza and great music in a quirky atmosphere. Six years on and thankfully Bimbo's is still doin' its thing. Don't be fooled by the dilapidated paint job – the service here is friendly and professional, and the mis-matched couches and somewhat random furnishings are at the core of Bimbo's artistic character, and eccentric night-time clientele. The pizzas are delicious, with the Organica and the Ceasar being particular standouts from the savoury menu, while the sweet menu boasts a decadent, must-try mixed berry pizza with marscapone. Djs grace the floor of Bimbo's every night of the week, with smooth, slow tunes easing diners through the early evening before house and dance beats take over. Aspiring djs can strut their thing on Thursdays and Saturdays as part of Bimbo's "Out of the Closet" program, more information is available at the entertaining and interactive bimbodeluxe.com.au. A recently opened beer garden with a Moroccan influence has further jazzed up the place, and offers a refreshing change to the delightful (yet dishevelled) decor inside.
