SAINT CRISPIN
Melbourne, Victoria

Top10 Image
Smith Street scored another quality dining destination with the opening of Saint Crispin's. The restaurant does food at fine-dining standards with an accessible price tag, offering a two or three course set menu for lunch and dinner, as well as bar snacks. Cuisine could be described as modern French, adapted to suit Australian seasonal produce. Decor is minimalist, with tables down the right opposite an open kitchen. A patch of exposed brick and low-hanging lights are a restrained emulation of industrial-chic.

For those special occasions, I would opt for the chef's tasting menu at Saint Crispin for their amazing and innovative dishes. Although all our dishes were exceptional, a couple of favourites were the tender king salmon with shaved calamari, oyster, squid ink and saffron and a refreshing blood orange parfait dessert with a lovely balance of tart and sweet.

St Crispin in Collingwood. I've followed joint owner chef Scott Pickett since he took The Point to 2 hats and opened The Estelle. It's casual eating with terrific food and a great drinks list that doesn't break the bank.
