If it’s winter comfort food you’re after, you can’t go past the new hearty winter menu at this award-winning Italian restaurant. After tasting plates like the crispy fried soft shell mud crab, a plate of Fellini’s famous freshly made and award-winning pasta, and a scrumptious 15-hour slow cooked rabbit in garlic, rosemary and butter, you’ll be so warm and cozy you won’t even notice the cold.
Sharing is caring, and that’s certainly true at this Greek inspired eatery. With authentic and rustic dishes made for enjoying with friends, Hellenika is all about piling as many share plates on the table as you can handle. Go for the kolokithia and hirino: zucchini chips and salty pork belly, and the stifado: beef cheeks stewed with onions for six hours before they hit your plate.
Geared towards tapas and share plates, Social Eating House is all about everything that its name suggests: making the culinary experience one that can be enjoyed collectively. Though when it comes to the confit pork belly, served with spiced plum, parsnip puree, crackling crumbed prawn and apple cider jus, we find it a little hard to share.
If it’s seafood, not the beach, that drives you to the coast, look no further than The Fish House. Take your pick from the likes of pan seared scallops, chargrilled yabbies and crustacean risotto – it will all make braving the cold worthwhile. Just save a little room for dessert: it might not be fishy but apple tarte tatin is the perfect comfort food.
BSKT offers up eats so delicious you won’t even realise it’s all designed to keep that beach bod in tip-top shape. Stop by for berry cacao pancakes with yoghurt and coconut sorbet before you hit the beach and then come back for 12 hour sticky pork salad for lunch. Before a big bowl of cocowhip, the world’s first healthy soft-serve, of course!
Cucina Vivo is Italian decadence at its finest, with classic fare that will have you dreaming you’re on the Amalfi coast. Walking away without a food baby is not an option at Jupiter’s new eatery, not with the wood-fired pizzas, fresh made pastas, seafood noms like brandy flamed king prawns and desserts like the nutella and marscapone pizza on the menu.
