PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS

You may not see Swanson swanning around when you visit. Though at what seems like seven feet tall, with steely grey spiked hair and pair of hypnotic blue peepers, he is hard to miss. These days when not in house, he is singing the pasta praises of San Remo, and celebrity cheffing himself away on Ready Steady Cook, and Everyday Gourmet.

Sit beach side of his eatery and you welcome the ocean vista of Glenelg Beach. Its stretch of sand handy to work off the heavenly guilt of grilled haloumi. On the Marina side, you are privy to piggy-banks-full-of-gold boats. You may indeed need to give your swine-safe a crack before dining at Zucca, as shy with their prices they are not. Add the sharing-is-best enjoyment of mezze, to the tasteful options here, and before you know it you may have clocked up enough dishes to miss the next payment on that yacht.

While I revel in their lemon-juiced chargrilled meats, it is the Greeks' seafood ridden ways that win me. What better time to indulge, than at this ocean side restaurant, over a glowing Adelaide sunset. Scallops come gently grilled, their meat's sweetness continued in an earthy cauliflower cream; salted pistachios crumbled atop. Kids-at-heart present love the crispy shredded pastry coats of "Kataifi" prawns, while those hunting the smokey allure of chargrilled octopus are pleasured by it here with silky skordalia. Be warned, it is very easy to out your hoarding tendencies when gathering tempting mezze, and Zucca's does not come cheap. Bring your big fat Greek wallet though, and you will be just fine.

The food was ok. Small portions for the price. Service was slow. Took forever to get a drink. Have had better Greek food in Adelaide.

The food, the service, the ambiance, the location are all top notch. We dined on a Saturday night and were left more than satisfied. Highly recommended.
