PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS

If you’ve already made fast friends with Hatch & Co.’s creative, rustic feeds and contemporary industrial feel at Newstead’s Gasworks Plaza and Mt Gravatt’s Garden City, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can now add a CBD venue to your little black book.

Just opened in the burgeoning Post Office Square, Hatch & Co.’s third venue has the same signature décor and menu focused on local sustainable produce made so popular at their other locations. But don’t make the mistake of thinking the restaurant is just part of a chain, because each restaurant has something unique to offer, and the CBD experience is different in it’s own way.

The new central location doesn’t just do sit down dinners inside, they also have a wide open outdoor area with views of the square outside where you can enjoy drinks and share plates. And plenty of people watching, always a fab activity to accompany dinner, which will be made that much more entertaining by cocktails like the shared Spiced Cooler, with rum, orgeat, mint, apple and guava.

If it’s more a morning pep up you need, they’ll also have a takeaway window for coffee, so the professionals who aren’t so professional without their daily cups (multiple) can take a little piece of Hatch & Co. with them to the office.

The hangry types, however, can feast their eyes on Hatch & Co.’s sustainably sourced eats, with everything from fiery pizzas to their famous calamari at the new venue.

Tuck into small plates like spiced crispy prawns with aioli or pulled pork sliders with apple slaw and onion rings, or feast on shared plates like slow roasted lamb shoulder with sides of paprika onion rings.

Got a breakfast meeting planned? Negotiate over vanilla rice pudding with berries and pomegranate or a hearty smoked ham, tomato and Swiss cheese Panini.
