SIENNA MARINA
Sydney, New South Wales

Top10 Image
There aren't many places around Woolloomooloo Wharf where you can lunch for under $20 with your own bottle of wine. Lunchtimes see it packed with local office workers after the $15 lunch specials which feature traditional bistro favourites such as schnitzel, parmigiana, burgers, fish and chips or steak.

PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS

They call it the poor man's Otto, which is pretty funny but makes a point. There aren't many places in Woolloomooloo where you can lunch for under $20 with your own bottle of wine. This is not to say that it's a tightwad's paradise – a main course at Sienna can cost you around $35, more if you're after a rib eye or Wagyu steak. But you also have the choice of affordable pastas and pizzas that will keep the price down and your tummy full. Sienna Marina (named for its waterside location and a town in Italy) has been operating for nine years and is hugely popular. Perhaps it's all the high class suitage across the road, but whatever the reason, people just love coming to the relaxed, unremarkable-looking bistro and they descend on it in droves.

We are from Montreal, Canada, visiting Australia for the first time. Visiting Wooloomooloo Wharf we stopped ofF for lunch at Sienna Marina. We did not know what to expect. But the service was very good, where all the servers helped each other out. One of them was even from France. As we found out a very cosmopolitain city. The food was not only plentiful but I would give it a 4 to 5 star rating. Anyone in the neighbourhood should give it a try because it is not only the food worthwhile but the atmosphere is relaxing and soothing. Plus you might be lucky enough to see "Russel Crowe" who lives on the Wharf, penthouse in the back. G&C
