Wooden Spoon is a chic restaurant on the buzzy dining strip of Military Road, offering a classy yet casual alternative to north shore diners. Walk in and you'll find a sleek, black bar with a friendly bartender ready to shake you up a house cocktail. The ferns, candles and wooden finishes with low couches is reminiscent of your very cool friend's lounge room. Past the bar lies the restaurant, with sculptural black lamps overhead and an open kitchen where you can see the chefs hard at work. During the day the restaurant is light-filled and casual, perfect for a girl's day out to try their high tea menu.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
The menu at Wooden Spoon is a sophisticated fusion of Modern Australian and Asian influences. A light bar menu compromises of booze-friendly snacks such as duck pancakes and the cute-sounding dumpling tray. In the restaurant, expect dishes such as cured duck breast with a star anise glaze, moving on to haloumi and rice noodles or sous vide ocean trout. The fixed price menu of two courses and a glass of wine is a very reasonable option, as is the five course degustation for only $56. Dessert edges into experimental territory with smoked pineapple doughnuts or raspberry bavarois with goats yoghurt rocks and tomato frangipane. Wooden Spoon is an elegant, interesting option for a delicious pre-film dinner or a lovely girl's day for high tea.
Wooden Spoon's beautifully designed, unique space can hold up to 120 people and the staff take great pride in customising events so it meets every whim. Ideal for an intimate private birthday party or engagement party, the venue offers an excellent menu of canapés and a carefully curated wine list. For corporate events, the space works well for everything from a dinner event for delegates after a long day at conferences to holding your company's Christmas party. Whether it is a day out with the girls or a private high tea party you need, you and your friends can relax and unwind after a busy day out, soaking in our luxurious setting at one of the best high teas Cremorne has to offer. Expect dishes such as smoked salmon and chive bagels and BBQ chicken rice paper roll and sweet treats such as mini banoffee pies and green tea and black sesame cheese cake.
