Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland are Co-Head Chefs at Woodland House.

Thomas Woods
Thomas first took to the stoves as an enthusiastic apprentice at Jacques Reymond Restaurant in 2006, working his way to the very top of one of Melbourne’s finest kitchens. Taking over from his mentor in early 2014 Woods along with co-head chef Hayden McFarland created Woodland House, with their paired back, minimalist style the duo have reinvigorated the Prahran site. Woods has always believed that eating should be an experience, not just a meal, nourishing the mind and the soul, as well as the palate and stomach.

Hayden McFarland
Hayden began his career at restaurants like Mercer's in Eltham and Yering Station, before travelling to The Square in London. It was here that he honed his classical technique, and later learnt innovation at Interlude and his 6 years at Jacques Reymond. Joining forces with Thomas Woods in 2014 the pair opened Woodland House, their first joint venture combines their youthful energy and drive with an appreciation for the provenance of produce to create one of Melbourne’s premier dining venues.
