Daniel Puskas's Profile

Former recipient of the Josephine Pignolet Best Young Chef award, Daniel Puskas is a culinary wizard with a cooking style marked by both brilliance and restraint.

Puskas has refined his skills overseas with stints at top restaurants including WD-50 in New York and Alinea in Chicago. In Sydney, Puskas paired up with Chef James Parry to wield a bold menu at Oscillate Wildly in Newtown.

After a brief foray into other restaurant kitchens (Puskas was offered a co-chef position at Sepia) the colleagues eventually got together again to open Sixpenny in Stanmore. Together, with former Codfather partner Chris Sharp, the pair took over a humble and historic corner spot site, and transformed it into a Nordically-inspired degustation restaurant. The impressive and elegant eatery has turned heads on the restaurant scene, proving technique and style still has its rightful place.
