Andrew Barkham's Profile

After an impressive international and local career, working at high profile restaurants in Australia and the UK, Andrew Barkham has joined The Governors Table Bar & Dining as Head Chef. Barkham recently worked at twin-torqued The Bridge Room following on from Selah in Sydney and the one hatted The Point in Melbourne where he cooked alongside culinary heavy weight chef, Justin Wise.

Barkham kicked off his career in Michelin starred kitchens in the UK and for 13 years learnt from the best. Most notable was his time with high profile chef Gary Rhodes at Rhodes Twenty Four in London (one Michelin star) following other exclusive establishments like No 1 Lombard Street (one Michelin Star) and City Rhodes (one Michelin Star).

Barkham counts retaining the Michelin Star at Rhodes Twenty Four as one of his most fulfilling achievements during his time there as Head Chef; he was also a regular at the yearly Taste of London festival and a stint in Iraq to feed the British troops counted amongst his many career highlights.

Barkham brings a wealth of experience and talent to the kitchen. His passion for contemporary Australian gastronomy coupled with his British background and honed European techniques, paves the way for a sophisticated and innovative dining experience.
