HOANG HAU RESTAURANT
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Top10 Image
Although surrounded by several other similarly-priced Asian-themed restaurants, Hoang Hau nicely carves out its own niche in the eatery-dense suburb that is Kingston. Serving a winning combination of favourite Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, diners looking for something a liitle different should check out the specials board for a number of lesser-known plates.

Awesome food, I had the Vietnamese Style Rolls & Chicken & Prawn Pad Thai, as a Takeaway. Staying in a nearby motel I needed something quick & tasty for dinner. The staff were wonderful & although I had to wait an extra 5 minutes for the food, I was offered a complimentary glass of wine whilst waiting. Couldnt fault the food, very tasty & filling. I will be back

This was highway robbery. We paid $67 for the most disgusting take-away food EVER! 1st entree was 3 fish cakes which were the size and depth of a 20 cent peice (but why did they cut them in half?) 2nd entree was 2 rice paper rolls which were tasteless. 1st main was a duck dish consisting of 6 meagre peices of duck which was boiled (not the golden BBQ duck you expect) on a bed of overcooked Chinese vegetables. 2nd main was a beef dish consisting of 12 cubes of steak on a bed of iceberg lettuce and tomato covered in a cheap sauce (which could have been bought at Coles). The portions were stingy and the food had no flavour. 2 minute noodles would have had more flavour but at least I would have got what I paid for.

Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff and the food is amazing! Doesn't look like much from the outside but go in and try, you will not be dissapointed.
