PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS
The Macquarie Dictionary defines a treasury as ‘a repository or a collection of treasures of any kind', and perhaps this is an apt description of what can be found at Treasury on King William. The restaurant is part of the heritage Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury Hotel, which has won numerous awards for heritage conservation. Within its walls the treasures of history are preserved and celebrated whilst modern treasures are evident in the beautiful fit out and the tempting morsels on your plate. Built in 1839, the building underwent a $20 million restoration in July 2002 and returned one of Adelaide's finest buildings to its people.
Entering the restaurant brings you into a modern, spacious room with a green colour theme where banquettes line the wall and the sun streams through the large windows. Outdoor courtyard tables sit alongside a large fountain which provides a feeling of respite from the busy street without – perfect for enjoying the somewhat adventurous Modern Australian menu.
