DETAILSDesigned by Jeffrey Beers, the restaurant is decidedly contemporary with undertones of traditional bistro aesthetics. There is an expansive dining area of upholstered red banquettes, and a melange of dark wooden tables and chairs with leather cushioning. The rooms are brightly light with spherical pendant light fittings that douse the space with a burnished glow. Bistro Moderne also includes a stylish 15 seat bar and an informal lounge area for casual dining.
FOOD & BEVERAGEDB Bistro Moderne offers an exciting mix of traditional French bistro cooking with contemporary American flavours, and a renowned collection of signature burgers. Chef Daniel Boulud re-interprets the classic Parisian bistro while sharing the energy and style of the original db Bistro Moderne in Midtown Manhattan. Start with an appetizer from the charcuterie such as the country duck terrine with pickles, Orleans mustard and toasted country bread, or a selection from the plats chauds like the snail and chicken oyster fricassee with hazelnut spaetzle, garlic confit and parsley. For main course the slow baked ocean trout with green peas, baby carrot, blue foot mushrooms and lemon hollandaise is robust in flavour and lamb duo, which features a grilled rack and lamb brochette is particularly tasteful with accompaniments of tabouleh, heirloom tomatoes and mint yoghurt sauce. But you can’t go pass the world-famous original DB Burger, with its sirloin filled goodness on a parmesan bun. A well-rounded selection of wine is available, with a focus on French drops along with some Australian and international vintages.
FUNCTIONSThere are two private dining rooms that seat 8 guests each or 20 when used in combination. These are available for private functions and business entertaining.
