DETAILSLaunched in May 2011, this new travel consultancy brings a wealth of knowledge to the forefront. Kim Coronica, voted the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Young Restaurateur of the Year 2010, directs the company alongside creative director Greg Feck, former owner of St. Kilda’s one-hatted restaurant Sapore.
COOKING SCHOOLThe state-of-the-art cooking school in East Hawthorn, Melbourne is truly unique. An enormous rustic dining table runs the length of the room, seating up to 24 people. The decor is modelled around a love affair with provincial antiques and the French and Italian countryside. It is an inviting space that plays host to all kinds of cooking classes accessible to beginners and professionals alike, hosted by Greg and Kim, with guest chefs throughout the seasons. The Cooking School is also available for private functions including team building events.
FOOD TOURSFood & Travel Co. believes that food and travel are inseparable, and design food tours dedicated to this mantra. The first of these, dubbed the Nordic Real Food Tour, takes an exclusive group to Scandinavia. On the back of the success of the first Nordic Real Food Tour in August 2011, travel operator and Nordic specialist 50 Degrees North have released new dates for a tour through Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark. As the tour travels through the Nordic region, it combines exquisite food experiences with the beautiful scenery, art and design for which the Nordic region has become so well known. A limited number of spaces are available due to the nature of this exclusive tour, so book early to avoid disappointment.
The company also offers regional Victorian food and wine tours for a minimum of 2 people. Held on weekends the tours take guests to visit regional restaurants, wineries and farmgates where they sample the local produce. The trips showcase one region per tour, and offers wine tastings at the best cellar doors, organized boutique accommodation and more.
