DETAILSThe design of Rhodes Mezzanine blends modern and baroque influences to create a visually stunning dining room. Lacquered white floor tiles, white leather-bound walls and floor-to-ceiling sheer white curtains create an art gallery-like feel to the airy space, peppered with exotic colour accents in the orange and fuchsia pin-cushioned chairs, lime green perspex room dividing panels and colourful floral arrangements on tables. The impressive wine wall displays an extensive collection of rare vintages, while a digestif trolley is brought directly to tables at the conclusion of meals for a charmingly traditional touch.
FOOD & BEVERAGEPatron chef Gary Rhodes, famous for his elegantly modern twists on British cuisine, creates dishes for Rhodes Mezzanine that bring together classic culinary techniques and contemporary flavours. The concise yet comprehensive a la carte menu is modified every three months to reflect the changing seasons and to reinvigorate the restaurant’s dining experience, typically offering an impressive selection of seafood dishes. The restaurant also offers a tasting menu, providing smaller sized portions of its signature dishes such as foie gras sandwiched between two layers of toasted gingerbread for a luxurious amuse bouche. Entrées may include items such as creamy scallop soup, poured at the table over confit leeks and pan-fried scallops; main courses might take the form of a crab lasagne, the flaked meat layered between two delicate sheets of thin pasta and smothered in a flavoursome, foam-like béchamel interpretation; and for dessert, fluffy rhubarb soufflé with thick custard, or Rhodes’ famous bread and butter pudding.
