In a city prone to jumping on the bandwagon of any new fad, it’s always refreshing to see someone breaking away from the norm and taking a walk on the wild side, particularly when it comes to food. Just Bar is an espresso, wine and tapas bar located on Preston Street, Como and is earning itself quite a name for cutting-edge tapas. Cosy yet stylish with inviting fire places perfect for those winter evenings, Just has a great vibe and contagious atmosphere. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that everyone here is sharing their food amicably or maybe it’s because the chef selects your dishes for you, completely removing the stress of deciding what to eat. Understandably, this may make some diners extremely nervous what with putting their tastebuds in the hands of someone they’ve never met. But fear not – these chefs would not take on such responsibility if they didn’t feel confident enough to impress each and every diner.

Here’s how it works; gather a group of your favourite foodie friends and decide between the short course (11 courses) or the long course menu (15 courses with three desserts or three cheeses) then sit back, enjoy your wine and prepare yourself for a gastronomic adventure. Within minutes you’re sure to be dazzled by dishes such as crispy skin twice-roasted pork belly, mushroom pate on percelle croute or seared pepper beef with gorgonzola mascarpone foam. An open mind and willingness to try new things is imperative here, but it also turns dining out into an anticipation-filled experience.
