PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAAlthough Perth is often known as the “sleeping city”, you can be sure to find one place in the heart of Northbridge that still holds a heartbeat long after other venues are tucked into bed. The Moon has been serving late-night food and drinks to students, night clubbers and insomniacs for as long as I can remember – and that’s at least 15 years. The 60’s style decor with diner booths, an eclectic mix of furniture and the infamous massive red clock (just in case you need to know just how late it is) seems the perfect setting for the clientele it attracts.
The food is nothing to get too excited about – just your standard selection of pizzas, pastas, burgers and light meals – although the full bar available makes it worth having a bite. Although the menus and a few parts of this place look like they could do with a bit of a wipe down, you probably wouldn’t notice due to the lack of sunlight in here. The $9.95 pizzas and pastas on Monday and Tuesday nights draw big crowds of mostly students and the food is actually pretty good. The Moon is definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to do a spot of people watching or sober up before crawling home.
