LOCATIONIn the beachside suburb of Swanbourne, 15 minutes’ drive from the city.
PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAThe recently-opened Naked Fig in Swanbourne has been one of this summer’s most anticipated additions to Perth’s coastal dining scene. With a venue built from scratch and offering 180-degree ocean views, its timing (for summer) has been impeccable. As the sister restaurant of Wild Fig Café in Watermans Bay, there’s no doubt that this little scene stealer will be just as busy with customers who seek fine food from one of Perth’s most socially, environmentally and ethically-conscious businesses. From fairtrade coffee to free-range chickens and eggs, it is clear this restaurant has a conscience – the crew behind both eateries also regularly contribute to the Hunger Project. Although the new Swanbourne venue may be a little more swanky than its northern counterpart, the theme is just as relaxed and family friendly.
Those already familiar with Wild Fig will be happy to hear the famous curry and vegetarian nights will also be on offer at Naked Fig, along with live soul and jazz music on Friday and Saturday nights. When it comes to food, it’s all about freshness, flavour and quality of produce. The chicken and eggs are free-range, the salads are seasonal and gluten-free options are available. In addition to amazing breakfasts and lunches, the dinner menu packs a punch with a good selection of seafood, meat and poultry dishes.
One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be a hot summer at this cool new establishment!
