Cottesloe Beach is well known for its beautifully terraced lawn areas under Norfolk pine trees overlooking a sparkling beach of pristine white sand and sparkling clear water. But what would this famous beach be without the magnificent structure of the Indiana restaurant? Built in 1910 and originally named Indiana Tea House, this beautiful example of architecture offers uninterrupted ocean views from every window, recycled wood for plenty of warmth and an exterior that seems to rise effortlessly from the beach sand. The venue recently underwent refurbishments to include new decor, fittings and a splendid private dining room, making the restaurant one of Perths most sought-after venues once again. Of course, weddings, birthday parties and other types of functions are always popular here, but dont wait for an invite to a function before sampling the restaurants a la carte menu. Using the freshest produce available, there's an appropriate emphasis on seafood, with South Australian oysters, seared scallops, tempura soft shell crab and four different styles of fish - all of which receive rave reviews from diners. The menu also includes a sensational dish with eye fillet, beef cheek croquette and sweet potato dauphinoise with a red wine and porcini port jus. You really have to try this one for yourself to understand its perfection. If youre after something lighter but still packing plenty of flavour, try the salad with shaved prosciutto, roasted pear, rocket, gorgonzola, hazelnuts and fig vincotto.

Indiana Cottesloe Beach - User Reviews

Canberra tourist:

Provided a long table on a rustic, cosy verandah, our group of 12 enjoyed the sunset over the ocean. This was followed by a wonderful three-course meal of local produce that proved to be as delicious as promised by its superb presentation. The staff were knowledgeable and efficient, adding to the success of our great introduction to some of the best of WA's food.review  14/04/2014

Angela:

Recently my husband and I lunched in this gorgeous location. Took my father-in-law who was in a wheelchair and mother-in-law. We were told no vacancies inside restaurant at 11.30am so we had to find seating outside - truth be known I don't think it was wheelchair friendly. Sea Food Platter for two was very average and some food mentioned on the menu was not included on platter. also, food chargrilled too much. For the price of the menu, expected better food.review  30/10/2012

Recently lunched in this lovely old-world building with the most fantastic view. Food was 1st class, everything so fresh and tasty and a very adequate menu. Service also could not be faulted.review  11/06/2012

Amazing location. It looks quite fancy from the outside but the inside is almost average, food is overrated, but the worst by way too far is the service.review  04/11/2011
