PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAIf you're thinking the decor of Cinnamon Club bears a resemblance to Chutney Marys in Subiaco - you are correct. These two Indian restaurants, as well as Nine Marys and Mela, are all owned by the same group synonymous with quality Indian food and beautiful interiors. Cinnamon Club is their latest addition to the Perth dining scene and rivals Chutney Marys for being the best of the four. The sleek, warm interior is seriously beautiful with a brown colour scheme and intimate banquette seating along the perimeter. The rear wall is covered in vibrant Indian-inspired artwork and brightens the room along with massive orange organza-clad light shades.
The clientele of this Leederville jewel come from near and far to experience the food; some driving from as far as Joondalup (25km away). So why drive all that way for Indian? The list is endless. All the traditional favourites such as butter chicken, Tandoori and vegetarian delights are combined with specialties such as goat curry and tasting plates to create a gastronomic experience you will want again and again. If you can manage to squeeze in dessert, you must try kheer (a traditional Indian rice pudding) along with Indian coffee. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself craving the flavours of Cinnamon Club before you have even digested your meal!
