PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAChutney Mary’s caters well for its cosmopolitan clientele. Although it’s often packed, don’t despair, the very helpful staff will call you when a table is ready and you can indulge in a glass of red over the road at the Subi Hotel. If you’ve got tickets to a show at the Regal theatre, let the staff know and they’ll make sure you don’t miss your curtain call, and if you’re really pushed for time you can phone ahead your order so you don’t have to wait at all. You can’t get much more helpful than that! Diners are voting with their stomachs: Chutney Mary’s is so busy these days that they’re extending into an adjoining shop. Try it out - you won’t be disappointed.
Expect all of the Indian classics with a sprinkle of culinary surprises for good measure. Try the tandoori salmon infused with ginger, garlic and Indian spices or their signature dish achaar gosht: baby goat curry served on the bone.
