Celebrating twenty years of business in hospitality is no mean feat by any measure but when you offer your diners spectacular river views, fine cuisine and seamless service you’re destined to be successful. Chanterelle at Jessica’s, located at Perth’s Hyatt Centre in the CBD, continues to receive rave reviews for fine dining. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Andrew and Elaine Peaston, Chanterelle boasts impeccable service by staff who obviously love working for this pair. Elaine oversees front of house operations while Andrew runs a tight ship in the kitchen, creating contemporary West Australian cuisine using only the best seasonal produce available.

Fresh seafood pulled from resident tanks is one of this restaurant’s specialties and the variety on offer is fabulous. The barbecue ocean plate boasts three types of fish, scallops, prawns and squid with saffron risotto for those who want it all or there’s the generously sized seafood platter for two. Shellfish are done so well here; the Moreton Bay bugs grilled in the shell with lemon butter sauce have to be among my favourites. Alternatively there’s West Australian crayfish, steamed local marron, a spectacular bouillabaisse and an array of fish dishes. Steak and meat lovers are also well catered for and once again, there’s a wide variety to choose from. Wagyu sirloin or tartare, grilled fillet steak with braised ox tail, roast loin of venison and de-boned lamb shanks wrapped in prosciutto are just a hint of what to expect. If you rarely leave room for desserts then I urge you to change your ways when you visit. There’s something for everyone with each dessert ensuring you leave Chanterelle at Jessica’s with a content smile on your face. Especially if you’ve indulged in the classic Belgian chocolate mousse!
