Barchetta at North Cottesloe Beach is no exception and boasts spectacular ocean views from their beachfront location. Whether you’re there in your swimming togs or suited up for a business lunch, Barchetta’s attention to detail rarely slips. A simple, uncomplicated menu has been created to match your surroundings with plenty of light meals, seafood and tasty tapas designed to share. The wood-fired pizzas are superb, made with minimal fuss yet maximum flavour and feature a range of innovative fresh toppings. The wild mushroom, Fontina and mozzarella pizza with truffle oil drizzle is worth a shot as is the tomato, bocconcini and fresh basil pizza. As they say, simple is best.

The a la carte menu is short and sweet, leaving you with more time to stare out the window or breathe in the fresh air from the alfresco area. Salads, pasta, fish and meat are your menu categories, with each section offering no more than four dishes. Some may find this too limited a choice while others will appreciate the simple, uncomplicated approach. The salad of warm pumpkin, olives, rocket and Danish fetta comes highly recommended by staff as does the Japanese crusted salmon fillet and the Torre’s veal cutlet with lemon caper jus. As the sun sets over the Indian Ocean and you relax into your chair with a glass of West Australian wine in hand, you’ll soon come to understand why Barchetta is rarely empty.
