Occupying a heritage listed building, Table 78 carries as much charm as you would expect for this part of West Perth. The restaurant has been transformed from three terrace houses to become a gorgeous dining venue that exudes historical style. You can’t ignore the feeling you’ve stepped into someone’s home, with separate rooms each embracing a fashion of its own. From comfortable corner-bench seating complete with scatter cushions to clothed tables and funky chairs, Table 78 seems to cover all levels of dining. There’s even a gorgeous private dining room with vibrant blue walls and a garden-style alfresco area with street frontage.

The staff here are so happy and helpful which is a refreshing change for this end of the city. Blackboards dotted throughout the venue show the daily specials but with so many tasty dishes on the menu, diners are certainly spoilt for choice. Lunch consists of a light range of share plates, fresh salads made to order and a more substantial selection of seafood, pasta and meat dishes. Many of these dishes, such as the angel hair pasta with smoked chicken, lemon zest, fried capers, goats curd and rocket, also appear on the dinner menu. The thyme and lemon marinated veal chop with roasted red onion is so good I could certainly see myself wanting it twice a day – if only it wasn’t so big. Chef Damien Brown certainly has his finger on the pulse when it comes to fresh produce and each dish holds its own with a great balance of texture and palate-pleasing flavours. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the staff at Table 78 sure know how to create a memorable dining experience with superb food and great service.
