There is simply no denying it – Perth has recently gone through a gourmet burger epidemic. In the last twelve months alone I can recall the opening of at least ten new gourmet burger bars throughout the city and surrounding suburbs. They all claim to have an edge on their competitors by offering the healthiest, most original, burgers you’ve ever seen and most of these burger bars deliver true to this statement. However, long before this infatuation began there was a little place in Fremantle that was quietly cooking up a storm, serving some of the tastiest burgers south of the river.

Previously known as Soho Soho Burgers on High Street, a move to the heart of Fremantle’s “Cappuccino Strip” and a shortening of the name seems to have done wonders for this hip little burger joint. Now known as Soho Burgers, this new stylish yet relaxed venue is busier than ever, but the focus still falls squarely on fresh, homemade gourmet burgers. And the joy doesn’t stop there. Not only do the burgers deserve big kudos, the homemade pizzas and salads are too good to refuse. Yes, this is a place that warrants regular visits if you’re going to attempt to work your way through the ample menu. Leave your conscience at home if you’re planning to tackle the signature bacon double cheeseburger or double stacker with two beef patties, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, homemade ketchup and American mustard. Or perhaps be kind to your waistline with a “Happy Mundis” barramundi burger or the “Italian Job” with grilled chicken breast, prosciutto, bocconcini and sundried tomato. With so many beef, steak, chicken, fish and delicious veggie burgers to choose from, it’s no wonder Soho Burgers continues to lead the burger revolution!
