Although not a place you might visit for dinner, the freshly hatched Creatures Loft is awesome to say the least. A variety of large open spaces are uniquely decorated with long solid timber tables, an impressive collection of eclectic lounges and sunken lounge chairs, and low lit lamps. Whoever furnished this place had two things in mind – comfort and ambience. Separate rooms are designed individually while still fitting within the Loft style, and bear names such as The Good Room, The Red Room and The Voodoo Lounge. Designed as a lounge bar and function space, the dishes (or “bites” as they’re known) are fantastic although limited in their selection. But then again, its intention never was to be a “restaurant”. If that’s what you’re after, you can always begin your evening at Little Creatures Brewery next door.

Basically, the Creatures Loft menu consists of: oysters natural, mixed olives, chilled marinated prawns, toasted sandwiches, cheese platters, or apple, pork and herb sausage rolls. Then there are homemade cupcakes and Turkish delight for the sweet tooths. It might be short and sweet but you can be assured of quality, flavoursome nibbles to accompany your choice of beverage. If you’re ever in need of a function venue, you will be hard pressed to find a more unique spot with a range of cocktail menus to keep your guests talking for weeks to follow. Or, if you simply want a new place to hang with the best atmosphere in Freo, make your way to Creatures Loft before the rest of Perth finds out about this cool little hideaway.
