If you’re looking for a place with great food, entertainment and a casino all under one roof, head to Burswood Entertainment Complex where you’ll find all this and more. There’s a number of fabulous restaurants to choose from, including the Mediterranean-inspired Sirocco. Located within Holiday Inn, Sirocco boasts a range of menu options including bar bites, pizzas, pastas and mains as well as a children’s menu. Relax in the funky alfresco area decked out with comfortable lounges and indulge in a few pre-dinner cocktails and fresh oysters with a range of dressings like blood orange and vodka granita or cucumber and chilli. If you can’t decide, try the oyster tasting plate featuring three oysters of each variety. Moving on to more substantial fare, the pizzas are delicious and fresh, as are the pastas with the prawn capellini being a popular choice.

Entrees are where the Mediterranean influence starts to become evident, with dishes like the warm baby octopus salad, smoked ocean trout Caesar salad and the rosemary and garlic lamb fillet. And don’t forget the extensive wine list featuring an abundance of quality local and international drops. The service at Sirocco is relaxed yet attentive, with staff all too happy to suggest a wine to match your meal. They’ll also help you choose your mains if you’re not good with decisions, or suffer from chronic “plate envy” (where you wish you chose differently and spend the rest of the meal ogling your guests’ food!). Thankfully at Sirocco there’s no such thing as a bad choice. The grilled pork cutlet with perfectly cooked crackling is just superb, as is the grilled barramundi fillet with roasted beetroot, eggplant, zucchini salad and olive tapenade. And if you still have room for dessert, the white chocolate tart is almost too good to be true.
